Come and listen to one of your favorite children’s book read by the instructor. Then dive right into working with clay! We will create a character from the story. Each class will focus on a different tale from a different author. Completed characters will be bisque fired, and can be picked up 2 weeks from the class date. Your finished piece can be painted at home, or left as is. Please note: This is a one-day workshop.  During this introductory workshop, you and your child will learn the technique of coiling as a form for pottery. This class will go beyond the basics. Create your pots in different shapes, add flairs and your own unique creative touches for a one of a kind piece of artwork. Your work will be bisque fired and available for pickup 2 weeks from the date of your class. Minimum of 3 parent/child pairs. |  In this fun three day mini-camp, students will make a simple summer skirt, a stripy shoulder bag, and a woven pillow. All materials are included. (The instructor will give information on materials needed for skirt and shoulder bag if you want to buy your own material.) Learn about foundation piecing, satin stitch edges, elastic casing and hems, machine sewing a button, fused applique, and weaving. Explore your creativity with your child! One adult and one child will create several glass pieces that will be fused and can assembled into one beautiful mobile,or kept as separate suncatchers. This fun class will offer a peek into our past with fun art and craft projects based on colonial life. We will start our journey with a visit to Pottsgrove Manor for our first class.
