The Gallery School of Pottstown is a non-profit organization that aims to provide an excellent education in the arts to both the youth and adults of our community, regardless of their income level. Our instructors are all professional artists who limit class size for more individualized instruction. We help students to foster their creativity and develop their talents for both their personal enrichment and as a foundation for advanced studies in the arts. The school also offers an after-school program for children in our community, as well as an art camp that runs through the summer and on no school days during the school year.
The Gallery School of Pottstown admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, and scholarship programs.
Scholarships and tuition assistance available. The Gallery School was recently approved for participation in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC). EITC is a program specific to Pennsylvania that helps educational organizations, while also providing incentives to businesses who assist them. Both the educational organization and business must apply to this program in order to participate. After the organization is accepted to the program, it is able to solicit donations from those businesses that are also in the program. On the business end, tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a business for the tax year in which the contribution was made. Businesses authorized to do business in Pennsylvania who are subject to one or more of the following taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax; Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax; Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax; Insurance Premiums Tax; Mutual Thrift Institution Tax; or Personal Income Tax of S corporation shareholders or Partnership partners. This amount can be increased to 90% of the contribution, if business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years.
